Mobile Offline Blogger
4/12/2002 Update: Beta 1 is out, and brings with it a new name. See the Pocket Blog website for current information. Pocket Blog will continue to be Blogged on the Mobile Offline Blogger Weblog. This page will no longer be maintained.
"Mobile Offline Blogger" is a tool for managing weblog1 entries from a Pocket PC device. MOB is not a tool for creating or managing a weblog itself, rather it uses the Blogger API to communicate with existing weblog software such as Blogger, Radio UserLand, Manila, Movable Type, and many others.
MOB is an offline tool, which means that you do not have to be connected to the Internet while composing weblog entries. Some day, Wireless Internet will be cheap and pervasive, but that day has not yet arrived. When that day does come, a tool such as MOB will still be desirable because it can provide a richer interface on a PDA than a web browser.
The first Beta release of MOB should be available by the second week of April. For the latest status information, see the Mobile Offline Blogger Weblog.
Here are some work-in-progress screen captures:

The latest work, improving the Editor UI significantly:
To quote from Weblogs.com, "Weblogs are often-updated sites that point to articles elsewhere on the web, often with comments, and to on-site articles." The weblog format is wildly popular for personal journals. MacInTouch and Slashdot are popular topical weblogs, but many focus on more narrow and less technical subjects. John Robb of UserLand is promoting weblogs for knowledge management within corporations.
