NY Times: The Be-All in Handhelds: 2 New Tries to End All

This week Handspring and Nokia each released pocket-size wireless gizmos with color screens, tiny keyboards, 16 megabytes of memory, and a lofty label: "communicator."

Zaurus SL-5000D battery benchmarks. The power drain from the backlight is obscene, and using an intermediate backlight setting draws more power than running the backlight at full brightness. Discussion thread.

Hopefully someone will run similar benchmarks on an SL-5500.
