This week Handspring and Nokia each released pocket-size wireless gizmos with color screens, tiny keyboards, 16 megabytes of memory, and a lofty label: "communicator."

Zaurus SL-5000D battery benchmarks. The power drain from the backlight is obscene, and using an intermediate backlight setting draws more power than running the backlight at full brightness. Discussion thread.
