Maybe I have a little time for posting...

30-Second Movie Review: Men in Black II

Earth is in danger of destruction, again, this time at the hands of Sarleena (Lara Flynn Boyle). Agent Jay (Will Smith) sets out to de-neuralize the former Agent Kay (Tommy Lee Jones) in order to pump him for information and save the world.

Ho, hum.

The plot is marginal and many of the best comedic moments were given away in the previews (they're funny, but we've already seen them). The biggest flaw in the movie is the amount of time spent making fun of itself. Agent Jay has become just like Agent Kay, but Will Smith's attempts at dry wit cannot compare to the natural talents of Tommy Lee Jones. The whole exercise detracts from the performance of both actors.

CmdrTaco recommends seeing Lilo & Stitch instead, and I agree wholeheartedly. It's packed with aliens, full of hillarity, and has Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction, Mission Impossible I/II) as the voice of Cobra Bubbles, an MIB-esque social worker...
