My current weblog.
I don't merely want a backlink - I want that blog entry to appear in my aggregator. And not just that entry, but probably the next several too.
Brilliant. RSS auto-discovery is critical to making this work...
NY Times: The Be-All in Handhelds: 2 New Tries to End All
This week Handspring and Nokia each released pocket-size wireless gizmos with color screens, tiny keyboards, 16 megabytes of memory, and a lofty label: "communicator."
Brief reviews of the Treo 270 and Nokia 9290.
CNN: Pakistan won't rule out nuclear option
The statement comes amid U.S. reports that India has started work to prepare for the loading of conventional warheads along front line positions on some of its medium range missiles which can also carry nuclear warheads.
Having nukes on the front line of a conflicted region overrun by terrorists threatens us all. A "Sum of All Fears" scenario becomes more likely with every passing day...
Zaurus SL-5000D battery benchmarks. The power drain from the backlight is obscene, and using an intermediate backlight setting draws more power than running the backlight at full brightness. Discussion thread.
Hopefully someone will run similar benchmarks on an SL-5500.
I'm afraid of the guy who wants just one nuke
CNN: Review: 'Sum of All Fears' well-done action film.
The storyline carries a haunting sense of the possible. A year ago, the idea of foreign terrorists detonating a nuclear bomb on U.S. soil was almost inconceivable -- safely in the realm of fiction. But after September 11, it all seems terrifyingly within the reaches of reality.
The .NET Guy points to a K5 discussion titled "Book Burning: Hollywood Style", lamenting the changes made in the transition from book to movie. I imagine that if the screenplay had been written post-9/11, it would have been much more faithful to the original Clancy plot. In today's reality the nuclear threat is real and the Israeli situation is becoming critical.
If the movie at all interests you, read the book.
CNET: Computing gets bulletproof guarantee
Sure, your fancy new laptop has the latest multimedia doodads. But can it stop a bullet? The latest in high-tech body armor promises to do just that.
I shot this laptop hard drive several times... it was very loud, and had annoyed me greatly. Unfortunately the platter disintegrated with the first shot.
