30-Second Move Review

Picked up Ali on Tuesday, finally watched it this afternoon. Brilliant cinematography, great acting. Will Smith seriously bulked up for the film, John Voight was so convincing as Howard Cosell that I hadn't even realized that he was John Voight.

That said... the movie sucked. With a two and a half hour running time, there is a lot of space between the amazingly filmed boxing scenes. During that time there is almost nothing notable. No great insights into Ali or the people around him.

We learn that the "Nation of Islam" was manipulative, that the CIA or FBI was in turn manipulating them, and that Ali didn't feel like dying to defend America when America would not defend him. However, we learn those things superficially.

Surely there is a great story to be told from Ali's life. This wasn't it.

May has barely begun, and already we're having 96 degree scortchers. The lake behind my apartment is lower than it was when I signed my original lease, and we were in the middle of a serious drought back then.

Big outdoor weekend, with the Florida Air & Sea Show and Cinco de Mayo. What's a little heat stroke?

Resetting the directory.opml pref and restarting Radio eventually produced a proper directory.opml file, yippie. All of my old pages now seem to be re-directing properly to radio.ntwizards.net. Now I just have to wait for Google to catch up...

Cleaned up the code while I was at it. Proper status information, a "Cancel" button, pretty Windows XP styling, etc...  If anyone does want this program, the odds are much better that it'll actually work.
