Meg Hourihan: My experience using personas. [via Scripting News]

Cooper's personas are simply pretend users of the system you're building. You describe them, in a surprising amount of detail, and then design your system for them. Each cast of personas has at least one primary persona, the person who must be satisfied with the system you deliver.

I got a link from Web McDeb. She's a road warrior like I once was, but her Dell Inspiron is broken. Pocket Blog + iPaq to the rescue. Her site is cool, she makes Pocket PC themes, check them out.

And on that note, I use the BMW Theme. I searched for a good ///M3-related theme to match my '97 coupe, but none really lived up to BMW standards. And FWIW, my Bimmer was built in Regensburg, where I used to live

Using the .NET CF / SDE Beta with VB.NET

Microsoft is only supporting the .NET CF / SDE Beta 1 with full-blown Visual Studio.NET. If you are using stand-alone VB.NET, the Beta will install without any errors but you will not be able to create any new "Smart Device Application" projects. The wizards never appears. After some head-banging, I figured out how to make it work.

Open <vs_net_path>\Vb7\VBProjects\smartDeviceApp.vsz in a text editor.

Find the line that reads:

Param="SCRIPT_COMMON_RELATIVE_PATH = CSPROJ"

Change it to:

Param="SCRIPT_COMMON_RELATIVE_PATH = VBPROJ"

Update: This solution also works for VS.NET users that do not have C# installed.

PDABuzz has a review of the Scott eVest 2.0. I'd like one, but South Florida's climate doesn't really allow for any excess clothing.

Happy Happy, Joy Joy

I've been accepted for the Smart Device Extensions and .Net Compact Framework beta! 40MB downloaded, 55MB to go...

Yeah baby, yeah!

My home page has been a bit scatter-brained lately, not sticking with the core topics of "PDAs, Wireless, Radio, and CSS." I would apologize, but this is a weblog. Deal with it. Smiley face sticking out tongue

Just kidding. I'm sorry. Really. I'm going to set up some more categories to flow non-core entries through, and use my Personal category to aggregate those entries. First up are Gaming and Technology. The former will mostly cover the X-Box, the latter will be for "Geeky Stuff" that doesn't fit in elsewhere.
