My current weblog.
Frank McPherson is up and running with Pocket Blog:
That is so cool. I entered that last post offline. Then I connected my IPAQ 3870 to my notebook using Bluetooth and started Pocket Blog. Pocket Blog detected that I was connected and automatically posted the entry, using ActiveSync passthru and Bluetooth. So, I should be able to write entries on my Pocket PC and then synchronize them to my blog. [via PocketPCHow2 Log]
Web Services Security. This is huge. [Bryce's Radio Experiments] [via Sam Gentile's Radio Weblog]
Me linking to Sam linking to me linking to Sam. Yes, I am bored and have nothing to do tonight.
My Yahoo mail account is up to about 15 spams per day, not counting the crud that they auto-filter. I'm at the point where I don't even want to check it any more. I hate to stop using it, because it's the one uninterupted e-mail address that I've had for many years, but the Signal-to-Noise ratio is approaching 0:1 and it's too many clicks to delete the crap.
Common Bryce, enough of the freaking teasing and release already! :) [via PocketPCHow2 Log]
Frank, hasn't anyone told you that patience is a virtue?
And, ahem, DONE!
I've been so consumed with other things that my web surfing has seriously suffered.
Some days ago Pocket PC Thoughts broke the news of flat-rate GPRS for CDN$50. How long before US companies follow?
My roommate has joined the proud few who have snatched up an Ericsson T68 from AT&T. It's a couple of grams lighter than the Nokia 8210, due mostly to it's Lithium-Polymer battery. He is impressed with the voice-dialing feature. I'm blase about it, having had Nokia phones with that feature for years, but Ericsson has made the feature continuously active (no button press required).
Web Services Security. This is huge.
The New Nomad Jukebox [via Slashdot] I have an original, purchased upon it's release at a premium price while I was living in Germany. The only positive thing that I had to say about it was that it played MP3s. The interface was horribly slow. Battery life was terrible (thankfully it came with two sets of rechargables). It sometimes crashed. My next portable MP3 player will be an iPod.
Announcing: Pocket Blog
Mobile Offline Blogger has been re-named to Pocket Blog. Beta 1 is available for now. See the Pocket Blog Download page.
In a former life I sometimes impersonated a technical writer. Check out Pocket Blog Documentation
Mobile Offline Blogger is packaged up and ready to go, just need to test that the installer actually works. Have some other things to do right now, should have the release online in a few hours.
Pocket Blog Roadmap BTW, Mobile Offline Blogger has a new name (and matching domain) that should be announced with the Beta 1 release. The web site is almost ready...Hopscotch, mentioned in the "30-Second Movie Review" from yesterday, is one of my favorite movies of all time featuring one of my favorite actors. Walter Matthau, may he rest in peace, was a comic genius whose work remains timeless.
The Odd Couple is available on DVD, where is Hopscotch?
This is a test post from Mobile Offline Blogger
With a test edit, all done wirelessly!
